THOMAS STEWART BRODIE 1840: 1841 - 10 mths, with parents. 1851 - 11 yrs, herd boy in Fraser household, Kill Hill, Auldearn. Drowned according to Inscription.

Alice was quite an amazing old girl from all accounts. She lived to a ripe old age and was running a dairy farm up until a few years prior to her death.  She married a man 14 years her senior, William Gilbert (Willie) and they purchased land and built the property they named "Remore" after the Leslie property her father was born on back in Nairnshire, Scotland.

LESLIE : Chief - The Right Honorable the Earl of Rothes.

History - The name comes from the Barony of Leslie in the Garioch. Descent from Bartolf, a Hungarian Noble, and brother of St Margaret, Queen to Malcom Canmore, is claimed.

By marriage the Leslies acquired the baronies of Rothes, Fytehill, and Ballinbriech, George Leslie of Rothes and Fytehill was created Earl of Rothes in 1437, and John, 6th Earl was created Earl of Duke of Rothes in 1680. On the Dukes death, without male issue, the Dukedom became extinct, but the Earldom continued through the female line.
