We have a family that initially starts off in the vicinity of Fawley in Hampshire and then a section of the Sturminster Newton lot that move here following three (possibly brothers) young men from Wimborne. Thomas Cluett m. Ann Inkpen c. 20 Jan. 1805 d. 12 Mar. 1860, Sturminster Newton (daughter of Joseph Inkpen and Jane Adams).  Betty or Letty Cluett a witness to marriage.

1851 cencus gives Thomas as a labourer living at The Row, Sturminster Newton.  They appear to have had 7 children but there is some confusion regarding Maryah who is the 4 month old twin of Emma in the 1841 cencus,  doesn't exist in the next cencus or appear in GRO records or parish records.

Hi, I am researching an extended family line which has a link with the Cluetts of Alverstoke, namely John Budd (b1824) & Harriett Jane Couzens. From the 1901 census Harriett Cluett (aged 69) and widowed of 24 Thorngate

Alms Houses, Alverstoke has a resident in her house who is part of my trail! She is Ellen Jaques, aged 11 and listed as a scholar.

It would be greatly appreciated if you have any information regarding Ellen or how she came to be a visitor here.

I believe she has links with Guernsey, but as far as I know, this is as an adult, not necessarily as a child
