The first known Fleetham in our tree, to date, is one Robert Fleetham who I estimate to be born around the late 1740's.

EDWIN FLEETHAM 1846: Edwin residing at 19 Moor Terrace with his Scottish born wife, Margaret, at time of 1881 cencus. No children in evidence only a 15 yr old servant girl.
According to George Willan Grainger's notes Edwin was a master ,mariner and his wife was a certified teacher.
ELIZA JANE FLEETHAM 1843: Birth registered Stockton 1843 4th Quarter xxiv pg 221?
Eliza Jane died Wellington 1918 death cert no. 1323. As the family were sailing to NZ, Mt Tarawera erupted, the report heard at Cape Town was that the NI had turned over. Eliza Jane left England for NZ with her husband and family. An account of their pioneering life, written by her son, Charles Andrew Grainger, makes interesting reading. Also there are more of her family photographs on the Grainger family page.
SAINT ANDREW FLEETHAM 1810: Saint Andrew Fleetham was a grocer and Importer. At the time of his marriage he was resident in Hartlepool and his wife resident at Claypath. Witnesses to the marriage were Ralph Laider and Mary Ann Mitchell.
Wife JANE LIDDELL 1804: Resident of Claypath at time of marriage.
THOMAS FLEETHAM 1777: ?? Buried Singapore 10/5/1905 aged 58 yrs.
Wife ELIZABETH HARLAND 1772: Daughter of John Harland and Esther Smirfitt. ? Died aged 61. Of Newton Grange at time of death.
THOMAS HENRY FLEETHAM 1840: An unmarried, out of work stationer living with his brother William at the time of the 1881 cencus. He died later that year.
WILLIAM FLEETHAM 1842: 1881 - William, a cashier, was living at Wingate Grange Farm, Durham with his wife Jane.
